Thomas E. Gibson

Thomas Eric Gibson (known as Tojo) was born in Washington, DC on July 3, 1933 to the Theodore R. Gibson, Sr. and Mary B. Gibson. He was raised the Foggy Bottom section of DC. He graduated from Phillis.
Thomas began working at an early age when he learned the value of money by being able to pitches his own suite at the age of only 7. Soon after graduating the US army from 1953 - 1955. After returning home he had an array of jobs before becoming self-employed as a dc cab driver for over 40 years. He was a diehard Cowboys fan. At any given Saturday you could find him at a flea market. Thomas was loved by all his neighbors; he would do everything from taking them to the store to taking them to the doctor. Thomas was an extremely funny man. If you were around him you had to be ready for a good laugh. He was a collector of many things.
His early years were spent in fellowship at the family church, Liberty Baptist. He then became a devoted member of Deliverance Miracle Temple Baptist church; where he sang on the senior chorus and he served on the trustee board.
The Thomas and Roxietta union blessed them with his first four daughters he later in life had two more children.
Thomas leaves to mourn 5 daughters Angela Gibson, Sherin Stanly Marcia Washington Marveall Gibson and Jasmine M. Gibson. He leaves three grandsons Damon, Bernard, and Marcell Gibson, one great granddaughter, Jordan. He leaves two brothers James A. Gibson, Rodney A. Gibson; two sisters Alfreda A. Gibson, Evangeline A. Gibson; one uncle Thomas Felder; and one aunt, Lena Felder. Also a host of family and friends.
Proceeding him in death his daughter LaSandra Gibson; three brothers Robert Felder, Theodore R. Gibson, Jr., Herbert Gibson, and two sisters Ella Gibson and Mary Gibson.
