Gwen L. Gibson

Gwen Locke Gibson, 92, of Towson, MD, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, May 21, 2016 at her residence at Arden Courts, Towson, MD.

Born July 21, 1923 at Orbisonia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Howard Locke, M. D. and Mayme (Comerer) Locke Bundy.

She was the devoted mother of Robert W. Gibson, Jr. and his wife Christine, Christopher L. Gibson and his wife Patricia, and Peggy G. Klein and her husband Irvin and the loving grandmother of Robert, Caroline, Molly, Evan, and Melanie and great grandmother of Ethan. Two brothers, Howard Locke and Radford Locke, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Gibson was a past president and charter member of the American Art Therapy Association and received an Honorary Life Membership for her outstanding contribution to the field of art therapy in 1993. She graduated from the Grier school, Towson University and received a MLA degree from Johns Hopkins University. Mrs. Gibson belonged to the Baltimore Potters Guild and the National League of American Pen Women.

Private services and interment will be in Orbisonia, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, PA.
