Patricia Ann Foster Fristoe, 71, of Winchester entered her sunset Saturday, October 11, 2014, at the Winchester Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 27, at 2 p.m. at the Winchester Church of God.
Mrs. Fristoe was born March 17, 1943, in Front Royal, Virginia, daughter of the late Reuben Cleveland and Minnie Marie Henry Foster. She was a graduate of John S. Mosby High School Class of 1961. She was a retired registered nurse for area hospitals and nursing homes.
Mrs. Fristoe was a volunteer for the Front Royal Police Department and the Winchester City Police Department where she held offices in organizations for both. She helped found the South Warren Fire Department as well as the South Warren Auxiliary. She was a member of the Northern Virginia Firefighters Association and the Strasburg Fire Department Auxiliary. Also, she was a member of the Winchester Eagles Lodge Aire 824, the Bentonville Baptist Church, and the Winchester Church of God.
Surviving are two daughters: Cynthia Fristoe Durham of Winchester and Lori Campbell of North Carolina; two sisters: Margaret Comer of Luray and Martha Neighbors of Strasburg; four grandchildren: Cassie Durham, William Durham, Madeline Beamish, and Taryn Beamish; and many cousins and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick, and Clarke Counties, 115 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, VA 22601-4486.
