J. Leo Foreman, 87, of Cooper Lane, McConnellsburg, PA and formerly of Hustontown, PA died Wednesday afternoon, February 12, 2014 at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, PA.

Born June 21, 1926 in Knobsville, PA, he was the son of the late Russell and Marjorie (Wagner) Foreman. He was married to Lois M. Cutchall on June 16, 1948. Mrs. Foreman survives at their home.

Mr. Foreman is survived by a daughter, Patricia McQuade of McConnellsburg, along with two grandchildren: Greg Walters and wife Diane, and Melinda Peck and husband Mark, both of Big Cove Tannery, PA. There are five great grandchildren: Tessa Peck, Bailey Walters, Carson Walters, Emma Peck and Aaliyah Walters.

A sister Jane Lamison of McConnellsburg and a brother Ronald Foreman of Broad Top, PA, also survive. An infant sister is deceased.

Mr. Foreman was a member of the Dublin Mills Community Church in Hustontown, PA.

A construction worker, Mr. Foreman was last employed at the former E. F. Goetz Co. in Chambersburg, PA. In earlier years, he was a janitor at Forbes Road High School in Waterfall, PA and along with his wife owned and operated L and L Custard Stand in Hustontown from 1963—1968.

An Army Air Force Sergeant, he served in 1947—1949 as an airplane mechanic with the 30th and 19th Bombardment Squadron in Guam. He was a member of Post 561, American Legion in McConnellsburg.

Mr. Foreman was a charter member of the Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Company. He was the first fire chief and was an ambulance driver.

He liked hunting, fishing, camping, sports and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, PA with Pastor Richard Bernhard officiating. Interment will be at Hustontown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 6-8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
