Vernon J. Fleck

Vernon Jack Fleck, 88, Fleck Road, Three Springs, PA died at 10:23 AM, Sunday, August 28, 2016 at his home in Springfield Township, Huntingdon County.

Born November 12, 1927 at Springfield Township, he was the son of the late L. Paul and Margaret (Wilson) Fleck.  He was married to Anna Louise Young on June 17, 1954.  Mrs. Fleck preceded in death on April 30, 2015.

Four children survive: David Gordon and wife Sharon, Larry Gordon and wife Bonnie, Margaret Centi and husband Michael, and Cindy Leydig, all of Three Springs, PA.

There are seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

There are four sisters and one brother: Kathryn Parsons, Shippensburg, PA; Garnetta Shope, Three Springs: Gay Fleck, Three Springs; Linda Anderson, Shade Gap, PA; and Karen Weiler, Mechanicsburg, PA.  

Three brothers Judson Fleck, Larry Fleck and Eugene Fleck and a sister Inez Ford are deceased.

Mr. Fleck was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church, Three Springs, PA.

He was last employed with the Huntingdon County Bridge Crew.  He also worked over the years for Springfield Township.  In addition, Mr. Fleck was self-employed cutting pulpwood and logging.

Mr. Fleck was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Army in 1946 and 1947.  He was a gun crewman and a truck driver.  He received the Army of Occupation Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Richard Harter and Pastor Dennis Hunsinger officiating.  Interment will be at Old School Baptist Cemetery, Three Springs, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8:00 PM on Thursday and one hour before the service on Friday.
