Gladys M. Endres

Gladys Melrose Endres, 89, Sportsman Club Road, Calvin, PA died at 5:47 PM, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at her home in Union Township, Huntingdon County.

Born September 9, 1927 at Mapleton Depot, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter Clay and Estelle Elizabeth (Goss) Chilcote.

She was united in marriage to Gilbert Clair Endres on June 29, 1946, a marriage of 57 years.  Mr. Endres preceded in death on July 5, 2003.

Mrs. Endres is survived by two sons and a daughter: Dana Endres; Devera Gladfelter and husband Doyland; and Dylan Endres and wife Patricia. 

There are six grandchildren: Amy Endres, Danielle Wright and husband Jeremy, Dustin Gladfelter, Jessica Scott and husband Jacob, Deidra Endres, and Desiree Endres.

Nine great-grandchildren survive: Xavier Wright, Xoe Wright, Hayden Wright, Jonze Wright, Alexander Scott, Andrew Scott, Adalyn Scott, Aleah Scott, and Emeree Lane.

A brother Walter “Wendell” Chilcote and wife Cindy also survive.

A son Doran Endres; two sisters, Delores Hughes and Bernyce Hamman; and a brother Chalmer Chilcote are deceased.

In earlier years, Mrs. Endres worked at the former Robin Footwear, Mount Union and later retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon, PA.

She was a member of the Mount Union Chapter #280, Order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, 245 Seminary Street, Cassville, PA with Pastor Scott Decker officiating.  Interment will be at Bowman’s Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton Depot, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
