Dale W. Edgin

Dale W. Edgin, 79, of Germany Valley Road, Mount Union, PA died at 1:47 PM, Saturday, February 16, 2013 at his home in Shirley Township.
Born August 17, 1933 in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Oscar J. and Ida Pearl (McKim) Edgin. He was married to Rachel N. Heaster Edgin on March 30, 1958. Mrs. Edgin survives at their home.
Mr. Edgin is survived by four daughters; Patricia K. (Edgin) Stever and husband Joe, R. D., Huntingdon, PA; Monica S. Edgin, Mount Union; Pamela J. (Edgin) Yoder and husband Ivan, Belleville, PA; and Naomi D. (Edgin) Woods and husband Darwin, McVeytown, PA. One daughter, Rose Ann Edgin died in infancy.
There are eight grandchildren: Gabriel, Rachel, Galen, Elizabeth. Josiah, Kaitlyn, D. J., and Zachary and three step grandchildren; Nathan, Nikolas and Derek.
Seven great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren survive: Jace, Ella, Joshua, A. J., Lucas, Wyatt, Raelyn, Jordan, Ryan, and Brayden.
Also there are two sisters: Genevieve Inch, Belleville and Cleo B. Martin, Elgin, South Carolina. Two brothers, James F. Edgin and Harold D. Edgin and one sister, Elda P. Edgin are deceased.
He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Edgin attended and was a Lay Speaker at Monroe Valley United Methodist Church until its closure and then continued at McKendree United Methodist Church.
He worked for several different construction companies and in 1988, retired from C.W. Weber Construction, Kutztown, PA where he was an ironworker.
Mr. Edgin always enjoyed working outside and making crafts.
He served two enlistments with the US Army.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA 17243 (map/directions) with Pastor James Hullihen and Pastor Ivan Yoder officiating. Interment will be at Germany Valley Cemetery, RD, Shirleysburg, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6—8:00 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
