Donohue, Kevin Obituary

Kevin Donohue, 76 of Milford, PA entered into rest on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. He was born June 28, 1938 to Timothy and Kathleen Donohue in Bronx, NY.

Kevin attended Cardinal Hayes High School where he developed a love for swimming and running track. A few years after graduating, he joined the United States Army in 1960, where he proudly served as a Morse code radio operator in Germany. When he returned home, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in English from Fordham University. He taught both English and History in San Diego, CA, while working for the San Diego Union newspaper at night. He went on to spend nearly his entire career as a Printing Pressman for the New York Times, in the footsteps of his father.

Outside of his work, Kevin was a prolific reader and had a passion for world history. He dedicated much of his time toward political advocacy initiatives in the Bronx, which he truly enjoyed and continued even after moving to Milford. He remained active in various volunteer efforts in Pike County, as well, and made many friends along the way.

Kevin is survived by his daughter, Mary Donohue of Philadelphia, PA; brothers Timothy Donohue and his wife, Ellen of Yonkers, NY, Brendan Donohue of Cape Coral, FL; sisters Kathleen McCoy and her husband John of Washington, DC and Maureen Chryssikos and her husband Mac of Ellicott City, MD; nine nieces and nephews and nineteen great nieces and nephews.

He will be reunited with his loving wife, Bridget (Marguerite) Donohue, in Heaven and into the joy of eternal happiness.
