Frances C. F. Dobinson

LTC. Frances C. F. Dobinson, 60 of Lords Valley, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 fr0m Cancer at Kindred Hospital, Dover, NJ. She was a retired Intelligence Research Analyst for the Department of Defense Foreign Intelligence Division for the U.S. Army Armaments Research and Development Engineering Center at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ.
Fran was a member of the Retired Officers Association, The Association of the United States Army and the Women’s Memorial. She enjoyed Crocheting and various hand crafts, was an avid movie enthusiast and supported various charities that rescued dogs.
The daughter of the late Vincent and Almalinda (Barile) Fairlie, Frances was born on June 16, 1955 in Bronx, NY. She was married to Walter G. Dobinson, Jr. on June 4, 1977 in Hamilton Square, NJ. As her father was a career Airman she grew up around various airbases in the US and Germany before her father settled the family in Hamilton Square NJ where she graduated from Steinert High School. She graduated from Trenton State College and completed Army R.O.T.C. earning her commission as an Army Signal Officer. She served in Germany from 1977-1980 before transferring to the Reserves. In 2005 she was recalled to active duty to train soldiers for the Iraq War.
Survivors include her husband Walter; four sons: Walter G. Dobinson III of Bollingbrook, IL; Vincent M. Dobinson of Hawley, PA; William J. Dobinson and his wife Jessica of Long Pond, PA and Robert D. Dobinson of Hawley; two grandchildren, Walter G Dobinson IV of Kenosha WI and William G. Dobinson of Long Pond, PA. She is also survived by three siblings: Her brother John and his wife Sue Fairlie of Hillsborough, NJ; her sisters Catherine Fairlie of Waldorf, MD and Marianne Fairlie of Hamilton, NJ
Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford, PA on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 7 to 9 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann, 705 Route 739, Lords Valley, PA on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11AM with Rev. Thomas Major officiating. Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family
