Robert A. Desiano, 70, of Lords Valley, PA and formerly of Glen Cove, NY passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Bob was a retired Director of Educational Technology, for the Glen Cove School District, Glen Cove, NY. After retirement Bob was a dedicated member of St. John Neumann Church, Lords Valley, PA and St. John Neumann/Good Shepherd Knights of Columbus Council #12571, Lords Valley, PA.

Bob was a beloved leader in the Glen Cove community both as an educator and coach. Over the course of his career at Glen Cove’s city school district, he created and grew the district’s computer science and technology program to become one of the top programs in New York State.  As a passionate fan of soccer and baseball, Bob spent countless hours coaching hundreds of children over his career, and was the President of the Glen Cove Youth Soccer League for many years.  Most of all, Bob always brought smiles and laughter to students, colleagues and friends throughout his three decades in the community.

After retirement, Bob once again became active in his new community in Hemlock Farms, PA.  Bob was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, becoming a Knight of the 4th Degree,   and participated in numerous charitable programs.  He was also a volunteer at the Blooming Grove Food Pantry and many other organizations in the community.

The son of the late Vincent and Nancy (D’Alessandro) Desiano he was born February 28, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY. He was married to Marie (Nogan) Desiano. 

Robert leaves behind his wife Marie of 46 years; three sons and their spouses Chris and wife Salena, Tim and wife Tara, Richard and wife Bella; grandchildren Samuel, Matthew, Julia, Ryan, Piper; sister Lorraine Faughnan; and many nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, PA on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Church, Lords Valley, PA on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 10:30am . Cremation will be private at the convenience of the family.
