William J. Craft, 85, of Leesburg, VA, died Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Benton House of Sugar Hill, Sugar Hill, GA.
Born June 24, 1933 at Clayhole, KY, he was a son of the late George W. and Laura (Noble) Craft. He was united in marriage to the former Peggy Sioux Lamison on May 4, 1957. Mrs. Craft preceded in death on August 19, 2016.
He is survived by three children, Sioux Ellen Kimberling and husband Michael of Leesburg, VA, Allen J. Craft and wife Caryn of Suwanee, GA and Christopher L. Craft and wife Sylvia of Alpharetta, GA and two grandsons, William Craft and Zachary Craft. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Donald Craft.
He was a dual member of Austin Lodge #12, Austin, TX and Olive Branch Lodge #114, AF & AM, Leesburg and a member of the Scottish Rite, Austin, TX and Kena Temple AAONMS, Fairfax, VA. He held a commercial pilot’s license since 1970 and served with the Civil Air Patrol, Frederick, MD for many years.
He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller after 33 years then worked for the FAA as a rehired annuitant until 1993.
Mr. Craft served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War in Japan.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Cherry Grove Cemetery, RD, Three Springs, PA with Pastor Steven Heaster officiating. Friends may call at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Saturday.
Cromwell Lodge #572, F. & A. M., Orbisonia, PA will conduct a masonic funeral service at 1:30 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
