Hattie M. Cotterill

Hattie “Harriet” M. Cotterill, 100, of Milford, PA passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at home. She was a Lead Stitcher for the Shoe Factory, Port Jervis, NY, a Tax Collector for Westfall Twp., PA and an Artist. Hattie was a member of the Pike County Arts and Crafts, Pike County Historical Society, Artery Fine Art and Craft Gallery, the Milford Garden Club and the Milford Thursday Girls.

The daughter of the late Arthur and Katherine (Walsh) Von Ignatius, she was born on February 13, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY. She was raised in Mount Vernon, NY and moved to Milford, PA on her 15 birthday. She was married to Henry Cotterill Jr who preceded her in death in 1965.

Harriet leaves behind her daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Cotterill and Michael of Milford, PA; grandchildren, Darlene Cotterilll and companion Karen of SC, Michael Gwin and his wife Lori of NY, Henry A. Cotterill Jr of PA and Thomas Gwin and his wife Dina of NY; great-granchildren, Dylan Gwin, Andrew Theil, Jesse Gwin, Kyle Gwin, Gia Gwin, Henry “Tré” Cotterrill and Lucas Gwin; daughter-in-law Antoinette Cotterill; nieces, Patricia Meyer, Nancy Von Ignatius, Sharon A. DeRenzo, Alexandra Wolles and Regina de Wetter and friends, Sarah Hoffman and Theresa Giacalone. She was predeceased by her children, David Cotterill, Arthur Cotterill, Alberta “Mickie” Gwin and Henry A. Cotterill.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Andrea Clark and Jane Maylath, the home health aids of Guardian and the Pike County Area Agency on Aging for the exceptional care they had given to Hattie.

Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford Street, Milford, PA on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM on Monday, February 19, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Church, 111 East High St., Milford, PA with Rev. Alfred Vito officiating. Burial will take place in Milford Cemetery, Dingmans Twp., PA.
