Robert M. Conner

Robert M. Conner, 92, of Scott Road, Huntingdon, PA, went to be with the Lord at 4:51 PM, Friday, September 16, 2016 at his home.
    
Born July 19, 1924 at Rockhill Furnace, PA, he was a son of the late Charles and Kathryn (Flickinger) Conner. He was united in marriage to the former Helen Ramper on October 5, 1946 at the Newburg United Methodist Church. Mrs. Conner survives at their home.

Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara Boozel and husband Theodore of Mt. Union, PA and Beverly Shock and husband William of LaGrange, TX, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and six siblings, Charles Conner of Orbisonia, PA, Jane Stake of Columbia, PA, Nancy Runk of RD, Broad Top, PA, Laura Neff of Quarryville, PA, Kathryn Blair of Huntingdon, PA and Helen Garber of Mountville, PA. Five brothers, Samuel, Alfred, Richard, Frank and Bernard Conner and two sisters, Betty Rickabaugh and Dorothy Conner, preceded in death.

Mr. Conner was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, McConnellstown, PA. During his life he was engaged in farming and was a self employed carpenter.

Mr. Conner was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U. S. Army as a medic and was involved in the Normandy invasion.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, 245 Seminary St., Cassville, PA with Rev. Jack Russell officiating. Interment will be made at Newburg Cemetery, RD, James Creek, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home 6 – 8 PM on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
