Clark, Jr., Oscar Obituary

Oscar H. Clark, Jr., 80, of Front Royal, VA, died on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center in Winchester, VA.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home (map/directions) conducted by Rev. Jim Bunce. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery (map/directions).

Mr. Clark was born August 20, 1932 in Parkersburg, WV, son of the late Oscar H. Clark, Sr. and Hazel Bosworth Clark. He was a graduate of Warren County High School Class of 1951. Mr. Clark was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served his country as a communication specialist from December 1952 to December 1956. He spent eighteen months of his service in Germany. He retired as sales manager for Heckman Bindery where he was affectionately known as “Big O” and he also worked for several other local businesses including Jack Evans Chevrolet, and The Southerlands. Mr. Clark was a member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife Louise Kress Clark of Front Royal; two children Ron Clark and wife Ginny of Glen Allen, VA and Kelly Clark Wilson and husband Chris of Richmond, VA; one brother Thomas C. Clark of Front Royal; one sister Joyce Clark Davis and husband Sterling of Front Royal; one grandson Nathan Clark and wife Jessica; and one granddaughter Elyse Clark.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Clark, Michael Graf, Danny Rinker, Sean Marchi, Mark Lalumondiere, and Brian Rathman.

Special honorary pallbearer will be a brother-in-law Bryan Kress.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.
