Carter, Shelontae Obituary

In My Remembrance

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave behind when life is done.
Remember my smile. Remember my laugh.

Gone but Never Forgotten,

A Poem Dedicated to My Mother by Xaviera Carter

You once told me that life won't be easy
But to cherish what we have and to always laugh
I will miss your smile and your crazy wild ways
That even though you're not here I know that you're not feeling any pain
Some days I will cry and want big hugs from you
But then I'll hear your voice saying "It will be ok and I Love You"
So as you close your eyes this is not a goodbye â¨And your love shall never die
You left a memory that nobody shall forget or even regret
So I want you to relax in paradise and be comfortable
Because you deserved it
You are gone, but never forgotten

Obituary

Shelontae Maria Carter, affectionately known as "Shaey" to her close friends and family was an adventurous soul who enjoyed traveling, dancing, cooking various oriental dishes, listening to music, participating in social media, and was an avid animal lover. Her favorite color was green, favorite flower Shamrock and favorite holiday was St. Patrick’s Day, the same day as her birthday as she embraced anything Irish.

She enjoyed beauty, makeup and fashion, interests that she passed down to her daughters.

Shaey was born March 17, 1974, to the late James Edward Carter, Sr., and Mary I. Douglas. She attended school in Maryland and Washington, D.C. where she excelled and received numerous Honor Roll certificates for her excellent grades.
