Shirley Cannon

Shirley Frances Harris Cannon was born on January 12, 1941 in Fuquay- Varina, NC to the late Graham Harris and Alice Holland Harris. Shirley had nine siblings, six which preceded her in death, Roy Lee, Perlina, James, Roosevelt, Dovie and Clifton. On Wednesday May 8, 2019 our precious beloved Shirley went home to be with our heavenly father.

Shirley was educated in the Wake County Public School System. Shirley graduated from Apex Consolidated High School in 1958. Shirley joined Apex First Baptist Church at an early age. She later joined Greater Refugee Temple DC C.O.O.L.J.C. She worked hard in her church for many years. Shirley worked with many ministries in the church but her passion was the Usher Board. Shirley worked for the Air & Space Museum for many years and retired from GSI in 2009.

Shirley will forever be remembered in the hearts of her amazing family, loving Mother, Alice Harris of Apex, NC, two sisters, Joyce Harris & Cozie Cannady of Apex, NC, one brother Tommie Harris (Shirley), one sister in law Faye Harris of Hillsboro, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends which included a special son Arthur Mulkee, special friends Johnnie Harrison, Ella Richardson & Rose Richardson.

A very special Thank You to Anthony & Niki Harris for your support to Shirley during the last three months. Words can never express the gratitude our family has for the countless things you both did to ensure she was well taken care of.
