On Monday, February 6, 2012, Louis Michael Borum, affectionately known as “Lou,” transitioned peacefully from this life at Bethesda Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bethesda, MD. He was 81 years old.
Although Lou is no longer here with us physically, he will forever be in our hearts as he left an indelible impact on his family and friends through his character of integrity, kindness, and service to his country.
Lou was a man of order, integrity, and honor. He served in the Army for 26 years, completing two tours in Vietnam and one tour in the Korean Conflict. During his tenure in the Army, he received a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, and numerous other awards and achievements for his military service to his country. Lou had great work ethic and took pride in the training and experiences he received thru the military. He had experience using parachutes, expertise in gun and artillery, and was instrumental in aiding the refugees’ exit out of Vietnam.
In addition to Lou being a man of service to his country, he was also a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be sorely missed.
