Bertilaccio, Andrew Obituary

Andrew L. Bertilaccio, 78, of Lords Valley, PA, and Boynton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA.  He was a retired manager for NYNEX, New York, NY, and a member of St. John Neumann Church, Lords Valley, PA, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1257, Lords Valley, PA and a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran.

The son of Pietro and Grazia (Amoruso) Bertilaccio, he was born on November 7, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY.  Three of his sisters pre-deceased him – Catherine, Susie and Louise.

He was the loving and devoted husband of 56 years to Anna (Siculiana) Bertilaccio.  He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law; Linda and Richard Hubbard of Bixby, OK, Graceann and Fred Sullivan of Mansfield, MA and Francine and Joseph Taylor of Pennington, NJ.  He was the best Poppa to his six grandchildren, Ashley, Kaitlin, Andrew, Lindsay, Peter and Sarah.  He was the loving brother to Antoinette Gurgui of Somerset, NJ and Marie DeSole of Lords Valley, PA.  He also leaves his best buddy, Charlie, in the loving care of Annie.  He was the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John Neumann Church, 705 Rt. 739, Lords Valley, PA (map/directions) on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 10:00 am.  


The family respects the fact that most of the dearly loved friends and family of Andrew, as well as those of his wife and their daughters, live at distances too far to travel for the memorial mass.  Therefore they want everyone to know they appreciate all of their thoughts and prayers.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (DONATE) or by mail, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to Bishop Kearney High School, Attn:  Sr. Virginia Lake, 2202 60th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11204.
