Adams, Eleanore Obituary

Miss Eleanore A. Adams, a former Kearny resident, died on Monday. She was 76.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, Kearny (map, directions).  The interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery (map, directions).  Relatives and friends may call in the Condon Funeral Home, 684 Kearny Avenue, Kearny (map, directions) on Wednesday from 3-7pm.

Miss Adams graduated from the College of St. Elizabeth with a BA in Spanish and received her Masters from Fordham University.  She retired from the Kearny Board of Education as the head of the Foreign Languages Dept. in Kearny High School in 1992. Eleanore was proud to be selected as the Principal Speaker and Honored Guest by the Friends of Erin, Inc. of Kearny in 1963.

She is survived by her cousins; Mae King and Paul Barrett, as well has her cherished companion, Sam Baskinger, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to the College of St. Elizabeth, 2 Convent Road Morristown, NJ 07960 in Eleanore's memory.  Envelopes will be available in the funeral home.
